The Auckland bikers' day out

It's all about you, your bike and hundreds of other like-minded enthusiast bikers.

What a great afternoon it was. The feedback has been tremendous and everyone is looking forward to 2011 when we are planning to be BIGGER & BETTER. On a perfect late summer's day in Auckland, when we were competing with other big events on the motorcycling calendar, we had a great turnout. The bikes, the bikers, the public, the exhibits, the bike shops, the band, the food, it all came together so well.

A big THANK YOU to all the bikers that made the day a success and see you next year - a couple of weeks earlier in March.

Bikes, BBQ & the Blues was held on Sunday, 28 March 2010, 12pm to 5pm,  Fort Takapuna, Narrow Neck Beach, Devonport, Auckland

Organised by DEVORC - Devonport Riders Club

in association with Rotary Club of Devonport

Located at historic Fort Takapuna (adjacent to Narrow Neck Beach), with cliff top views across the Hauraki Gulf to Rangitoto, this is your chance to enthuse, admire and dream about our passion. Every kind of motorcycle is welcome, from vintage, veteran and classic to custom, bobbers and modern

Bikes, BBQ and the Blues will be exactly that. Its all about YOU and your BIKE, hearty food and BBQs.  To set the scene a backdrop of classic blues live with a band and the Flea FM broadcasting.  And of course hundreds of other bikers with all types of motorbikes to enthuse about and admire.

To add to the experience there will be exhibits by bike retailers, bike clubs and collectors. Also, displays by biker related businesses such as bike tours, bike schools, track days, accessory retailers, bike insurers, lifestyle stuff and more. For sellers, a "Sales Yard" where you can advertise your bike.

Make it an afternoon out with your mates, your club or your favourite pillion. If you want to come as a club and create your own exhibit we welcome you. But please contact us first to register and understand a few simple rules. There is no restriction on entry and exit times and re-entry is permitted.

There's a nominal $10 entry fee per motorbike which enters you in a great prize draw, a free BBQ sausage and allows you to park in the event area and qualify for other spot prizes. There is NO charge for riders, pillions and the public. The event is on reserve land that's open to the public but this is a biker focused event.

The location is perfect for a biker, your family and a picnic on site or at adjacent Narrow Neck Beach. While in Devonport visit the village and take a ride up Mt Victoria and North Head. Alcohol will not be on sale.
